Artist “Henry Thomas Alken” (1785 - 1851) was an English painter and engraver chiefly known as a caricaturist and illustrator of sporting subjects and coaching scenes.

Engraved by "I. Clark" - possibly John Heaviside Clark ( circa 1771 - 1863 ), a Scottish aquatint engraver and painter of seascapes and landscapes.

Published by “Thomas McLean” (1788-1875), a London ( England ) printseller and publisher who specialised in the publication of political caricatures.

This artwork includes 5 English Spaniel dogs running around and sniffing in a field.  There are trees and a flourished forest with a church steeple in the background.
