This is a piece of antique sterling silver that is shaped like a hat pin. It is shaped in the form of a long, thin blade with a round knob at the end. It is constructed from three different pieces that are fitted together to form the long blade. The blade is topped with a silver button with a flat back. The blade has two deep grooves that run the length of the blade. The grooves are created by two different pieces of metal that are fitted together. The shagreen has a brownish color and is covered in a pattern of what looks like scales.
